The Minister for Consumer Affairs announced on Friday, 7 May that Ms Sue Maclellan has completed her term as Victoria's Director of Liquor Licensing.
Ms Macellan had held the position for over five years, during a time of major change in community concern about the misuse of alcohol and the role of liquor licensing in preventing alcohol related violence.
In his press conference, the Minister thanked Sue for her enormous contribution in what he described as one of the hardest jobs in Victoria.
The Minister also announced that Mr Mark Brennan will take up the position of Director of Liquor Licensing. Mark has been the Small Business Commissioner since 2003 and prior to that, held senior positions in the State and Federal government and in legal firms.
During Mr Brennan’s time as Small Business Commissioner, he was supportive of operators in the tourism and hospitality sector, and he will be able to use his experience and knowledge of small business and apply it to this new position, hopefully resulting in a sensible and business friendly approach to liquor licensing.
